Associate Professor Dr Aidalina Mahmud

Associate Professor Dr Aidalina Mahmud is a Senior Medical Lecturer and Public Health Medicine Specialist at the Department of Community Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She holds an MBChB from the University of Otago, a Master of Community Medicine in Health and Hospital Management, and a PhD in Community Health from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Her research interests include health systems strengthening, primary health care, health service management, health economics, healthcare financing, and health equity. She teaches and supervises postgraduate students in public health and health service management, and currently heads the Health Service Management Unit at the Department of Community Health, UPM. She was also the inaugural Head of the Public Health Unit at Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS), UPM.

Dr Aidalina has published extensively in local and international peer-reviewed journals, co-authored several books, and contributed expert commentary to local media on public health issues. Her academic work is driven by a commitment to strengthening health systems through evidence-informed planning, effective management, sound policy, and equitable healthcare delivery.
